High quality food is produced in our region. Many farms, the so-called OPGs, market their products themselves. We would like to introduce you to companies and their products that you absolutely have to try!

The taste of mountains

In the Lika, the regional cuisine of the interior blends with the Mediterranean products of the nearby Adriatic. Typical dishes are grilled meat on a spit, roasted over an open fire and served with the region's exceptionally good potatoes. The cheese specialties are also famous, such as the Škripavac grilled cheese or hard cheese, which are also often refined with truffles. There is fish fresh from the sea and locally fished trout from the Gacka, one of the purest waters in Europe. You can get excellent dairy products from organic farming at OPG Kolačević in the small town of Kalinovača near Gospić. The cheese factory offers fresh products such as yoghurt, spreads, various types of cream cheese and aged cheese. We recommend the Škripavac grilled cheese, wrapped with fine local pršut and grilled. A culinary must!

The Ruspante pizzeria is located in a very scenic location at the Gacka springs. This restaurant is one of the most highly awarded restaurants in Croatia on Tripadvisor. Local products are processed starting with flour mixture. The flour is freshly ground in the Gacka mills especially for the pizzeria. This pizza tastes amazingly different!
Gacka Spring Mills In the Gacka mills, grain from the region is freshly ground into flour. Wheat and rye flour as well as corn flour polenta can be purchased at the mills.

Dairy Sirana Runolist

The family business produces the finest cheese specialties exclusively from milk from cows and sheep that are allowed to live free-range on ecological pastures. Runolist sells in Krasno.
